Perfect Pitch

I was photographing a football match between Lothians v Dundee, in an under 18s tournament. They were playing on a synthetic pitch which was perfectly flat, dry and a fabulous green. It was completely the opposite of the pitches we played on as kids which were so undulating sometimes you only saw the opposition when they crested a hill. They where also favourite place for dog walkers and so slide tackles could have unpleasant consequences. Progress can be a beautiful thing.
