Black and white

Or even black and white and red all over - which could apply to both or even just the hen on the left; I'm writing this post in reverse apparently, and should have started with 'Why is this chicken like a newspaper?'. The left hand hen is a Cuckoo Maran apparently, and certainly a fine specimen and has featured in some of the pictures on day two of the farm photo weekend..
