Hopeful and Welcome

The weather forecast is for two storms headed our way. The first one is scheduled to arrive overnight and will depart Thursday. It is the smaller of the two storms. Predictions are for about 1 inch of rain.

The second storm arrives on Friday and may last through Sunday. The amount of rain expected has increased as time passes. A couple inches in coastal areas and 3 - 6 inches in the foothills.

If the predictions are correct, we'll get more rain in the next few days than we had all of last year.

Most of us welcome the rain and are hopeful that we will get a good soaking.
We'll need much more to relief the drought conditions. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a wet March, but not so wet to cause other problems.

Unfortunately, those below or near recent burn areas have already been asked to evacuate voluntarily due to expected mud slides if it rains 1/2 inch per hour or more.
