Mary McMurtrie Artist

Another dull, rainy day:-( Off to Glasgow for my sister's birthday do - so going to be a busy day. Blip for the day is a print of a McMuntrie painting that I was presented with when I changed jobs. It is hanging up in my front room and it is always a source of inspiration for me. Mary McMurtrie was born in June, 1902, in Skene, Aberdeenshire, and died on 1st November, 2003, in Aberdeen, aged 101. Flowers were her abiding passion, both as a painter and as a horticulturist. She painted these poppies in 1996 when she was 96 years young!
