Tower bridge by night

Now I didn't know that the term 'bascule' meant a drawbridge. Tower bridge is also a suspension bridge over the Thames. Bridge construction took 8 years starting in 1886 and completing in 1894. [The new Queensberry crossing across the Firth of Forth is fortunately a much quicker construction project these days.]

This was taken with my Canon Ixus 950 on a mini-tripod that I carry in my handbag. Taking photos was mingled with a few drinks in a little pub right underneath the bridge - the name of which I can't remember.
