You never know what is going to happen next

Accidents happen so fast, and that's what happened to me this evening. I went outside and unfortunately somehow did so something to my ankle. I heard something 'snap'. By the time I crawled inside, my ankle was swollen. Oh dear. Just as well 3 people in my household have recently completed their first aide certificate! So, ice and elevation it was; compression had to wait.

To cut a long story short, I've been up to our local hospital who have bandaged it. The specialist nurse thinks I may have a hair-line fracture, or may have torn the ligament. Because of the swelling, I have to go back at 8.30am in the morning for an another assessment, and then may have to go through to Nelson Hospital Accident and Emergency for an x-ray tomorrow. In the mean time I'm on crutches. Not fun.

It's times like this that appreciate your sons. When I fell, Farmerboy was about to go and milk. Son C went and got the cows in, while Farmerboy took me up to the hospital. Farmerboy is out milking now, while son T is cooking tea. I'm on the couch, with my feet up, watching the Crusaders play the Blues (rugby for those not in NZ). Not where I really want to be at this very moment.
