How long before the new and modern looks old and dated?

Occasionally you see photos of the town you live from many years before and although the general layout and buildings are the same it's hard to imagine living in that era.

I wonder how long before the photos of today's modern is no longer recognised

A decade?

A century?

And what will the people looking at these pictures look and live like?
