Slates

Gales on Monday morning managed to rip a slate off the roof and launch it into the air, leaving a hole almost directly above the electric switch for the new central heating boiler, which was only installed in December. We had to switch off the heating for two days for safety. The house was uncomfortably cold, though thankfully the temperature didn't drop down to freezing.

These pieces of printed paper were essential for repairing the damage. And, before you ask, the answer is "no"! I didn't go up and tape them over the gap.
