Reflections

A stunning day today, nearly cloudless blue skies. Took a short drive up to John o'Groats, where the cafe serves Starbucks coffee, for coffee and cake and general scenery viewing. The cafe overlooks the Pentland Firth, with Stroma, Pentland Skerries and Orkney in the distance. But the photos, apart from the blueness, weren't that interesting.

This is a black-headed gull, obligingly wading in the Wick River. What I like about this photo is the way you can see the riverbed in the gull's reflection.
