First casualty

This Grand Fir came down around the time of the St Jude's day storm. Little did we know what was to come. The latest storm - 108 mph in Pembrokeshire - brought day a further 32 trees, mostly firs. We measured this beast at 120 ft. The light that the fallers will bring to the woodland floor will encourage the native understory trees to grow and the wood we will harvest will keep us going in building timber and firewood. " ...it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good"
