Frustrating Friday

Hideous journey today on the trains. Headed off early only to find that all the trains were badly delayed. The platform was very busy by the time the next train was announced. Unexpectedly, a train then arrived at the platform that was going to terminate at the station. People who hadn't been listening to the announcement piled on to the train desperate for a seat. They then had to be persuaded off the train by the platform staff who had to go into every carriage to check it was empty. While they were still doing this, the platform for the London train was changed and so a couple of hundred people had to pile up the escalators and stairs. I tried the furthest stairs in an attempt to beat the squash and ended up in the First Class section of the train unable to move due to the number of people cramming onto the train. I decided to grab a seat and refuse to move if we were challenged by the train manager. Despite the huge problems this week, the First Class carriages have been patrolled regularly by staff and 'ordinary' passengers have only been allowed to stand (grudgingly) even if there were seats available. With people squashed in so tight they could hardly move, we were then shouted at by the platform staff to move up and make room for more. Utter chaos.

Luckily the train home was a bit better but the commute is much harder and stressful at the moment.

The wind was getting up when I got home with more heavy rain. The clouds were racing across the sky. This stormy sky was my only chance for a photo.
Roll on the weekend.
