Rainbow rice

A rainy sunday called for some indoor rainbow fun.
We baked flapjacks and then set to work redecorating the house with the rainbow rice I made a few weeks back. We put a big sheet down to try and contain it somewhat and then poured it all out onto trays and found some things to play with; whisks, spoons, egg cups, ice cub trays, jars from the kitchen, animals, figures and cars from the toy box. They spent a good while pouring it first of all, spooning it into containers and scooping it up, then moved onto sprinkling it onto each other and into glass and metal which made a great sound. We pretended to make a chocolate cake with it, then buried things in the big bowl and took turns hiding our eyes and trying to guess what was inside just by feeling for it, lucky dip style. Finally the whole lot got tipped out again and turned into a race track. While D tried to shape some berms and make a BMX track, Lily rolled about in it!

I've been googling more rainbow inspired activities so watch this space :)
