Chatoyant

Home to Connecticut after five all-too-short but lovely days in Boston.

Today's vocabulary word is Chatoyant:

cha·toy·ant

adjective
1.
changing in luster or color: chatoyant silk.
2.
Jewelry. reflecting a single streak of light when cut in a cabochon.

This is one of my favourite necklaces, given to me by the fabulous Mr. W a couple of years ago. The scintillating blue-green oval stone is an opal, which changes colour and intensity depending upon how the light hits it. It always makes me think of tropical waters.
