Going up...

The University of Edinburgh are building a vast new student accommodation block opposite our office on Holyrood Road. After months of demolition and site preparation, the first signs of the new building are starting to appear, in the shape of slender concrete elevator shafts that shoot straight out of the ground unsupported, like something out of a Dr Seuss drawing.

It would have been very millennial of me to take a photo each day as the old building was demolished and the new one took shape. But I didn't.
