Tools of the trade

I was showing a teacher how this works today.
The on campus students are in the room with the teacher. The distance students are in an Adobe Connect "room" which overlaps with real room.
The teacher wears the moon shaped microphone and the campus students use the hand microphone. Through these the distance students hear everything. When they speak it arrives via loudspeakers.
Everyone sees the presentation, notes etc through the electronic whiteboard which the classroom and the Adobe Connect room share.
The whole ting can be recorded so absent students can pick it up later so the ones on the other side of the world don't have to be up in the middle of the night to take part.
It's a long way from a blackboard but on the other hand it's not 100% reliable, as the blackboard was.
