Rosa rugosa

I have blipped this rose before on a couple of occasions last year. This shot struck me though because it shows the beginning of the annual cycle, and the end, all on one plant. The rose is one of several in one of the hedges around the garden and produces beautiful blooms during the summer and then the fruits which look to me like octupuses.
