WITHERING PETALS

I'm not certain where the tradition of giving roses for Valentines Day came from, but I think we need to come up with something better. When you give them to her they are lush, vibrant and beautiful...a symbol of your love, right?? But then, two weeks later, they are withered, dried out and almost dead!! Hopefully our romantic relationships have a lot more staying power than that! LOL

Maybe that's why when we choose the mate we want for life, we give her a diamond. It will last for thousands of years and still look as good as it does today. Now whoever chose THAT as a symbol of love knew what they were doing!!
