Out and About

Linhares da Beira

This is the tiny hilltop village , one of 10 notable historic villages in the Beira region, that was our base for a long weekend ( or was a short week) in Portugal. Our hotel was the large 17C building standing proud among the small stone cottages.

The village, scene of moorish battles in the 10C has a large castle (from where I took the photo) a medieval forum and lots of tiny cobbled streets. I was spoiled for Blip choices. The village restaurant; La Cova da Luba was extraordinarily good. (Have I mentioned that before?). The most recent comment on Trip Advisor is that you cannot get a better meal within 100 miles- we were spoilt.
