Sunshine on a Rainy Day

I so had plans to do much more than mope around all day and bark at the kids to help out with the housework. The final stages of the Rally of Scotland were taking place nearby in Stirling and I was hoping to get along and take some pictures there. I was also going to get out and get in some more shots of the flooding all around the Wee County. But then the inevitable happened and the inevitable has been persistent again for most of the day.

Even getting the kids to help with the tidying was a chore in itself; they insisted on only working if they could listen to the Music Channel on TV that had begun playing all those Christmas tunes that have been in the shops since around October. And the threats of no presents from Santa doesn't cut it anymore with 15 and 11 year old non-believing sceptics. Even a twist on that - the removal of one present for each day their bedroom remained a midden - was met with a negotiation. The pair of would be politicians asked if any presents withdrawn could be credited back if they performed extra good deeds. Chancers. Still, work was done and as it was now dark outside I was left with no choice but to blip something from the fruit bowl.

Sunshine on a Rainy day indeed.
