Arctic Day 2: 70° 58' 56'' N >> 70° 51' 28'' N

Dark steely skies made the passing scenery so dramatic – bitterly cold but wonderful. We stopped at Honningsvåg and had a wander. It is the home of the North Cape Plateau, with just 2,800 people, and just over 2,000km from the North Pole.

Tonight there were some incredible King Crabs displayed on deck, delivered straight to the boat by fishermen from Kjøllefjord – they were huge and I have to admit I ended up feeling a bit conflicted at the fact they were about to become dinner.

We sailed on, past Berlevåg – famous for Tanahorn Mountain, which was once a sacrificial site for the Sami tribes of the region.
