Spring in Provence

Provence is blessed with the sun and a mild climate. Spring is already blooming there. This photo was taken on top of hill surrounded by a pine-tree forest near the village of Fontvieille, a few miles away from Arles.
The windmill on the right side of the Florentine cypress is known as Daudet's Mill. Alphonse Daudet was a 19th century Parisian writer, who fell in love with Provence. He acquired a windmill and wrote short stories and novels on Provence. One of his most famous books is called 'Letters from My Mill'. It is a collection of short-stories set in Provence.
