Daffodils and Snowflakes - 62/365

A perfect description of irony.....and of the weather we've had here in west Tennessee. We're having, what the weathermen call, an arctic Winter. The coldest it's been here in at least 2 decades! But that's not all...we've also enjoyed some unseasonably warm days with temps up to nearly 70 degrees! In February! It's been really crazy! Everyone's getting sick because of these extreme temperature fluctuations! I'm sure the animals are getting pretty confused as well. These blooming daffodils are the perfect example of how warm the temperatures have gotten, enough to fool the flowers and plants to start budding and blooming.....then another big Winter storm moves through and drops a couple inches of beautiful fluffy snow. What was very unusual was that it was an actual storm, pouring rain, thunder, and lightening which is a very rare occur acne during the winter months. It was after the storm blew over, and the raining stopped, then the snow began falling and continued nearly all day. It's the 1st really good snow we've had, previously it was only sleet and ice. So we took the kids outside to play in it....snow angels, snowball fights, pulling them around on a sled, the whole bit! They really enjoyed themselves and had a blast! Of course I had my camera in hand and was busy snapping away all the beautiful snow photos I could find. This picture of the flowers covered in snow is one of my favorites. I chose it because when I look back this photo will be a perfect recollection of the weather we experienced this strange, crazy winter!
