Female Great Spotted Woodpecker

The Sparrowhawk came through the garden 8 times during this morning but failed to catch anything. I was sitting there with my camera, but didn't manage to get him as he didn't land anywhere.

This Woodpecker was quietly feeding whilst I was looking out for the Sparrowhawk and I didn't notice her for quite a while!

I took loads of shots of her, and I like this one because she has her tongue sticking out. (BTW her tongue is anchored at the back of her skull - it is very long!).
