I don’t know if I can get away with this one but we’ll see. After a delicious lunch at the Hayburn Wyke pub, we scrambled down muddy paths to the Hayburn Wyke waterfall / shore / bay, one of the most tranquil spots in these parts. I can’t recall the cause for hilarity, but it was probably at my expense so I feel partly justified now. While me and Christine were stone-hopping, Ian climbed the steep path on the south side of the beck and we soon followed, through atmospheric woods. It was a fine walk. When we got home, Ian immediately fell asleep on the settee.
