Was It Really So Long Ago

Bargate Lane

The lane itself is a tiny road, but a direct route to the dual carriageway. A spring rises as the road dips towards the railway line and over the years, the Tarmac surface has crumbled. It is now in a very sorry state, pot-holed with no sign of a repair to come.

This however is the start of the bridle way which wends it's way through Parrington'a Wood and onto Mill Hill. It lies next to the lane and is a favoured route of mine for weekend cycling, something I must get back in to: it's been over six months since I last rode, due mainly to DIY and a reluctance to rise anywhere near 7:30 on a Sunday without a baby to feed.
