Blue Ice

When I left for work this morning it was 22 degrees, & when I came out of work I was totally shocked, at it was up to a really pleasant 45 !! That's only 13 degrees above freezing, but when you're used to temps hovering around 10 degrees, this seems like heaven! We went to Grant Park Beach, & were amazed at how many people were walking on the beach & taking pictures! The lake looked so amazing with all this ice pushed up in piles across the frozen water; but what made it extra special was the pale blue color of the ice--very unusual, & really gorgeous to see in such large amounts! Some nut woman let her little boy--I'd guess around 7 y.o.--climb out onto a pile of this ice, which is literally over the water! If it had moved, he'd have slid into the water! She (the nut) was happily taking pictures of her son on top of the ice as he lost his balance & started sliding down the side! He managed to catch himself before he hit the water, & she just kept laughing! A man walking along told the lady to get her son off the ice, & she just ignored him! Some people just shouldn't have children! Best viewed large, as I have a few seagulls standing on the ice as well! (fine for seagulls--not so fine for little boys!) Tomorrow's my weekend to work & we already have multiple pts. scheduled, so I'll have a long day! Hope you all have a great weekend!
