Packing boxes

A lot has happened this year. I have been overworked, ill and generally lacking the motivation to photograph things and completely lacking the time to upload them if I do.

Those that followed my journal may remember the issues we had last year when we lost our roof in December. Finally a couple of weeks ago we were told they were happy to pay for it and to get contractors to fix the internal damage. Initially they said they needed every room that they would be working in empty (that'd be all but the bathroom). After a call to the Loss Adjusters they arranged that they could work around us as long as all our possessions were boxed up. And guess when they wanted to start the work? Ten days time.

Yesterday our packing boxes finally arrived. I took annual leave today to work on getting everything packaged up and moved into the two rooms the plasterer won't be working in. It is chaos and we've got to live like this for about a month.

The study looks so sad without all its books and lovely treasures. Even worse, the kittie will be going from the wall too because even though the walls were only damaged in our bedroom, they're repainting them all.
