Heartbeat

Spent the early part of the evening in the data centre watching indicator LEDs as we switched to alternate power sources in preparation for some repair work in the electrical room. Many of the data systems are in use around the clock or can be called upon at any time - simply turning them off for maintenance is not an option. So we make critical changes with one eye on the pilot lights to reassure ourselves that all is well.
