Mt Patriarch

Long good sleep after a long day yesterday, and could have stayed in bed longer. But time for day 2 of the boys riding … todays mission, Mt Patriarch.

Up the North bank Rd and then after 5 km up Top Valley Rd, on our bikes. And uphill.

Such a change to yesterdays rooty, rutted, rocky single track, this was a road, uphill.

Pretty nice weather and hot, but after yesterdays ride, a tad tired, so tail end Charlie I was.

Set off at 11, and after 3 hours of riding, 15km of uphill and 1100m of ascent, we stopped for lunch, high in the range overlooking lake Chalice. Very impressive.
But that was the end for me, theoretically another 900m of climbing or so to go and another 12km. I was done. And in the end we all decided to head down, to get home earlier, a cold beer and a bbq.

Greta ride, so different to yesterday. A total of 60+ km over 2 days and around 2400m of climbing, Add a couple of decent crashes on that and it’s fair to say I am enjoying the earlier evening and a quiet ale.

Another early night I expect, and who knows what riding tomorrow will bring!

Lunch stop, with Mt Patriarch to the left and in the distance ...

Vital Stats:
* Mt Patriarch
* 30km return
* 1100m climbing
* Ride time: 3 hours
