The Doncaster

The Doncaster is an important building in Braidwood. It is now a private home with delightful, formal gardens.

It was Braidwood's first hotel, built in 1837. Some years later it was purchased to accommodate the Good Samaritan Order of Nuns. The Sisters demolished the old hotel and built a convent using the same materials in 1906.
