Lost sculpture – Crombie Mills, Aberdeen.

This 2005 sculpture was created by George Potter and Andy Scott.
The theme is 'Mother Earth ' and the three figures are draped in a steel 'fabric' to represent the cloth weave of the Crombie Textile Mills, which once occupied the site.
The leopards mirror those incorporated in the city of Aberdeen's coat of arms. Why they face in two different directions is a matter for conjecture however.
The work involved a welded steel technique, using a variety of different bars and plates, including profile cut 'spots' for the leopards.
Sadly, unless you dig deep into Google you will have a hard time finding out anything about this work. Try searching for The Krays, Nikita Khrushchev and Grandholme Mills.
A campaign to add a plaque to this work is much needed.
