Reflections

At last. Sunny, calm, silent - Knockdow Estate this afternoon was everything the past weeks have not been. The sun was warm enough to make me remove my jacket - almost left it lying on the wall I laid it on to take this - and the lack of wind meant that the chilly air didn't annoy. We had a great walk over the road between the farms, right down to where it meets Loch Striven; we weren't passed by a single vehicle the whole way out and the only noise was of the birds singing and a distant tractor.

Walking back to where we had left the car in the Ardyne car park was a different matter: we met the school bus (twice); a digger (twice); a tractor; a gritting lorry (twice - and it was gritting); a white van and several large cars being driven at maniac speeds by - we presumed - Loch Striven residents in a hurry for their tea. We must remember not to leave our return till the rush hour next time ...

BTW - the link I've given is really to satisfy a bit of vulgar curiosity.
