The Grand Central Hotel

A glorious day in Glasgow today. Could this be the prelude to summer?

I often pass The Grand Central Hotel for lunch and as its name suggests it is indeed a grand building. It was originally designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, in 'Queen Anne style' and was completed in 1883, but has undergone a number of facelifts since then.

The Grand Central Hotel hosted my first ever Sports Ball, which was an eye opener for an innocent young island boy as to what Glesga life would be like. The hotel declined an invitation to host the event the following year, which would perhaps suggest that there were a number of rowdy students kicking around the previous year.
