The Post

Much different weather for our walk on the moor today. Much colder with swirling mists. A walk through one of Dartmoor's remoter parts.

This post is on Cater's Beam at the end of Black Lane (there is no lane any more!). The post is one of two (the other is about 1 km south) and both are marked on the ordnance survey map. It is made from an old railway sleeper and put here many, many years ago to act as a navigation aid on this remote and featureless part of the moor.
