Red camp

Crossed the causeway to South Hero to meet a client at a home used for camp during summer. "It's the big red one, " I'm told. The place was a roof for rain and mattresses for recovery. Wind was permitted to come and go as she pleased.

There were men on the ice fishing. Light swam beneath a sea of murky clouds. A damp chill belied spring. I stood by the edge of the ice and waited for the client to arrive.

The photos I took are tangled in a digital morass I had already spent hours untangling. Maybe as the storm sweeps over Vermont tomorrow I'll camp here with my coffee and put my house back in order
