A Future Vintage??

We've had a great day today driving through one of the finest wine growing regions in Australia. Some of the best reds are produced in the Coonawarra - Limestone Coast region. We were intrigued to see the new plantings, so the wine industry in this region of Australia must be alive and well.

These vines looked particularly healthy and no doubt in a few years time will be producing spectacular results.

We arrived in Mt Gambier and decided to take a drive around the Blue Lake, which believe me is as blue as can be. The colour of the blue lake changes from grey to a vivid blue over a few days in November and remains that way until March when it returns to its grey hue. It's quite a phenomenon and I've added an image to my Blipfolio.

A very exciting day coming up tomorrow as we make our way towards Melbourne. The spectacular Great Ocean Road is something I have always wanted drive. I just can't wait.
