Early morning light on Clutha Track

Lovely light first thing when I took this shot, then later in the afternoon my painting group met up to paint at the Clutha Cardrona confluence. One does fine water colour pencil detail three do water colour and I do the acrylic. Rather hot in the sun
Day ended with a particularly good talk on drilling in the Antarctica and the Andrill and other projects. Seems there have been over 60 relatively fast temperature fluctuations with the area going from cold and ice to tropical in the last 300 thousand years. Fast geologically speaking i.e. over thousands of years. Note this was for rock cores to look at climate variations.- not oil
