Rariora = Rare

This book is not rare at all, (it's as close to the topic I could get today) I'm not even sure how many people outside of Australia would remember or even know this book or it's author, it's been on my book shelf a very long time, but what is rare is the young man reading it, Jaxon our 10 year old Grandson, has been interested in this book of poetry a few weeks now, after first hearing about Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson OBE, in his history class.

He was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author. He wrote many ballads and poems about Australian life, focusing particularly on the rural and outback areas.

One of his most famous poems is "Waltzing Matilda" The original lyrics were written in 1895 It was first published as sheet music in 1903. Extensive folklore surrounds the song, which was set to music and became one of Australia's most famous songs. He also wrote The Man from Snowy River" in 1890, which inspired a movie in 1982 and inspired a TV series in the 1990s,

Others include "Clancy of the Overflow" written in 1889 the tale of a Queensland drover. This is the poem Jaxon was reading to me this afternoon, one of his favourites.
I don't have a collection of rare books, what I do have is a lot of rather rare moments and memories, This is one of them.
