a door of happiness

Bubbly

96% relative humidity and dense fog aren't really signs of picnic weather, but a picnic I had with J today in the Victoria Peak Garden! I think visibility was as low as 100–200m at points (don't quote me on that — I don't have a visibility measuring laser thingy), but the fog actually provided a rather nice atmosphere. There were even two separate couples taking wedding photographs, although perhaps they didn't intend their photos to be so foggily dramatic/mistily dreamy…

The wet and foggy weather also meant that the garden was blissfully quiet, stray photographers and their subjects aside. In fact, it was so devoid of human activity by the time we left in the evening that we chanced upon two porcupines! Porcupines in Hong Kong!! Apparently they are not that rare in Hong Kong and have been spotted by others at the Peak.

Anyway when they started walking across our path, we decided not to disturb them and left by another route — although I must admit we were probably more afraid of them 'disturbing' us by way of a long, sharp quill.
