Wet market

The second day in Singapore started at the wet market. I could have spent hours here (at least in the fish and veg bits) finding out what all the different produce was. We came away with one of the golden snappers in this shot, some gigantic prawns (which we later barbecued), some mini mangoes, glazed pork and a pile of vegetables. I also tried some weird lycées which looked like dry, brown balls sold on a twig. Once you managed to break through the hard shell the lycées were the tastiest and most succulent I had ever tried.

The rest of the day was spent walking Lola the dog, lunching at Sentosa Cove, strolling admiring Marina Bay Sands from across the water and chilling out with a barbecue at our friends place. We reluctantly got on the plane at midnight but also looking forward to the next part of our travels.
