Rubella Vaccinations in #Bangladesh

Rubella remains a huge threat to unborn children everywhere that girls and young women go unimmunised. Contracting the disease in early pregnancy can cause disabilities in the foetus and even stillbirth.

Although the Government of Bangladesh has recently introduced Rubella to its programme of vaccinations, provision is likely to take some time before it filters through to more remote areas. Until it does, IMPACT will continue to offer the vaccine to girls of child-bearing age to protect their future children.

IMPACT Bangladesh also runs awareness-raising campaigsn which are conducted in schools and colleges so that the community understands this important issue.
