The Last Lunch

Despite today's calm weather, the sea was still piling in along the shoreline, whipped up into agitation by a week of strong winds. No doubt it will take a day or two to recover its tranquility. We had our final Spanish lunch of the winter at our favourite chiringuito. There is normally a good stretch of sand between the restaurant and the waterline, but today the waves were breaking right up to the footings of the building, literally inches away from our table. With the soft sea breeze in our faces, the sun coruscating across the breaking waves, and surfers out in force, it was a splendid farewell.
