Tonight is the night...

..the end of my social life as I know it!

My favourite ever clubnight is closing tonight/tomorrow morning. The first night I spent in the Civic Hall Wolverhampton was a clubnight called Cheeky Monkeys. It was the night before my 18th birthday and my sister escorted me, a couple of my friends and a couple of her friends there for our first taste of red stripe, sticky floors and indie tunes. We queue up in the snow (yes Neil it snows in March!) before being let into this huge dingy hall full of students in baggy jeans and trainers. If we are honest it wasn't our cup of tea back then and it wasn't till we got to Uni and discovered it's sister clubnight Blast Off, held on a Saturday, that we feel in love and never looked back.

Unfortunately the queues haven't been that long these days as people like us have grown up, got kids, or mortgages, or liver complaints and so making a weekly trip to the glory that is blast off can happen no more. We just have to admit we are old and there just aren't enough kids who love indie/rock and northern soul to keep the place going!

Anyway the picture is from a pub before we went to blast off. The pics of the best nightclub ever is on a friends camera, a friend who is always much more sober than me and remembers to snap away!

My first night in Civic Halls was spent with my bestests, and so was the last, plus a boyfriend each! Three out of four couples met in Blast Off, fancy that!
