Delirious? Historymakers Farewell Tour

Drove through to Edinburgh in torrential rain, to hear Delirious? for the last time. This is Martin Smith, the lead singer. An evening to remember, as I have followed this group of guys since they formed the Cutting Edge Band back in the early 90's.

The first part of the gig featured songs from their Cutting Edge days - The Happy Song and Lead me to the River. The guys were dressed in their gear from way back then.

After a quick change, they moved into their Delirious? years. What a treat - all the classics - King of Fools, Paint the Town Red, Solid Rock, Deeper. Martin had his white cloak and crown on for Kingdom of Comfort. The visuals added to the event - History Maker being my favourite.

It's good to have the old cassette tapes, and all their albums and DVDs to enjoy. Admit to feeling rather sad as we left the HMV Picture House in Lothian Road - the end of an era. At least it had stopped raining by then.

Their input on church music has been significant. I am sure we will hear more from them as individuals as they move into new areas of service.
