A two unicorn day

The plans for this morning looked grim in comparison to this morning's sunshine. Who wouldn't rather be out-of-doors on a day like today? This, combined with the facts that both children went off to school without much fuss, and the press were on to the story about the Outlander set at Doune Castle being besieged by fans, meant that I took the snap decision to spend a morning at Culross in Fife.

This is a picture of the Mercat Cross in Culross, around which are several buildings which have been used as a backdrop for the filming of the Outlander series. The Unicorn is important in heraldry, representing spring. The other unicorn I spotted today was in the Culross Community Garden, and was a sculptural outline of a unicorn which looked as if it were intended for topiary.

Over 200 photographs later, and a nice coffee and a cheese scone, I returned home with sufficient material for several blog posts.
