Equitant

eq·ui·tant
[ek-wi-tuhnt]

adj. Overlapping at the base to form a flat, fanlike arrangement in two ranks, as the leaves of some irises.

No irises to be found here in Vero Beach today, but these frondy tropical jobbies seem to suit the bill in the fanlike, overlapping department. Not sure what type of palm these are, or if they are even related, but both specimens were standing right next to each other at the edge of a golf course.

In a mad dash -- I have a long list of errands to run, things to sort out, mysterious electronic conundrums to explain to the elderly set, and then off to pick up Jackson for a long overdue session of grandparently spoiling!
