At the old priory

The Priory at Castle Acre exudes history and mystery, started around 1090 it thrived till 1537 (The Dissolution of the Monasteries) when Henry VIII put a stop to the influence of Rome and the increasing wealth of the monasteries through such activities as selling pardons to people who could then gain a hassle free entry through the pearly gates.

The photo is of one of the interior rooms, the roof timbers and old door in particular caught my eye.
