Alcohol Break (as in to take a break from alcohol)

Today should have picked up a bit but ended up just being a very chilled out day amongst friends. Half of us jumped in the usual matatu and headed with Colin to see his hydroscheme in Mwera, a village bordering the Rwenzoris. We were greeted by a busy little community with an active stream flowing through the village. Just before it pulls a steep corner, Colin’s set up a concrete leet to bring water to a forebay tank, which then pipes down to the powerhouse several meters below where the stream corners again. He showed us all the electronics and mechanics involved inside as well as the fine welding and couplings him and God had made. That was pretty cool, but other than that all we really did is yell 'Mzingu' and 'chikan' at the kids watching us. Then we headed back on the road to see the streams we’d be analyzing to set a hydroscheme up. Our group has the weakest stream: challenge accepted!

We dropped off at Little Rock for special grills, then hit Andrew’s for a couple more crates. Instead of working, I ended up lying down on the grass with Seetal in the sun most of the afternoon. Summer vibe. Some others joined us as well. Hannah and Matt in the photo nursing hangovers of sorts.
