Beach hut
Protected from intruders
But vulnerable
To the northerly winds
And coastal spray
Which have paled and blistered its wood
And turned steel into rust.

Many beach huts look very weathered and neglected at this time of year but in my view are more interesting than when they're freshly painted. Like ageing faces, they tell a story or two.
