Aspiring to be better

Princes Street Gardens

A day spent in Edinburgh with the Better Half. Started today with a visit to the Parliament for an exhibition tour of "This is who we are" with Graeme Murdoch and Harry McGrath. A really interesting 45 minutes exploring the connections between Canada and Scotland.

And then Princes Street and shopping.

Learnt a few things today.

John Lewis sell handbags for £225!!!! That's just the handbag!!! £225!!!!! No iPod with it!! No matching purse, nothing!!!

Women are more likely to ask for directions when lost. Even in John Lewis!! "Excuse me. How do I get out?" I sniggered. Then 10 minutes later was wishing I could ask the same thing!!!

Craft and Design fairs are to be avoided. Especially when your better half has an artistic bent. We could have been in there for ages if it hadn't been for.... No wait we were there for ages.

My Better Half loves it that after 23 years of marriage I still hold her hand in public. But than again, as I pointed out to her, whenever i let it go she gets lost or wanders off into some expensive shop (or craft and design fair).

Finally we finished shopping and hit the gardens where there were more shops (stalls really but what's the difference) and also some fairground rides. Found it really hard to get many good shots with the low light but am quite happy with this one.

All in all a quite tiring but enjoyable day.
